Insuring for Landlords
Property or Home insurance does not cover the additional risks associated with leasing your property to a third party.
Leasing a property exposes the Landlord to additional financial and legal risks which can be covered under a Landlords insurance policy. These risks include:
- Legal Liability
- Malicious damage by a Tenant
- Loss of rental income due to non payment or damage
Tempo Tips
- Do you rent your holiday home or investment property on Airbnb? This needs to be declared but cover is available to protect your property.
- Is your investment property located in a unit or apartment block? If so, the property may be covered under the Owners Corporation insurance but your contents and fittings can be insured under the Landlords insurance policy.
